Where Métis tradition
meets legal excellence

About

Ahkaamaymowin Law

Founded in 2024 by Jamie-Lee Keith, Ahkaamaymowin Law represents a pioneering vision in the legal landscape of Canada—it stands as the nation’s first law firm dedicated exclusively to Métis legal affairs and rights. This groundbreaking endeavor not only highlights the firm’s unique position in Canada but also underscores its commitment to addressing the specific legal needs and challenges faced by the Métis community.

Ahkaamaymowin Law has been instrumental in shedding light on previously unexplored areas concerning the Métis community in British Columbia. One of the firm’s most notable contributions is the publication of the first-ever report on Métis voter data. This ground-breaking study delved into the psyche of the Métis electorate, providing invaluable insights into their voting behaviors, priorities, and the factors that influence their political engagement. Furthermore, Ahkaamaymowin Law completed a comprehensive report on the impacts of volunteering as a Métis leader within British Columbia. These contributions underscore Ahkaamaymowin Law’s dedication to fostering a deeper understanding of the Métis community and its unique place within Canadian society.
